Planting instructions for:

Aloe arborescens 70lt

Select a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Ensure the soil is well-draining and sandy, as this succulent plant is adapted to arid conditions. Dig a hole that is wide and deep enough to accommodate the root ball of the plant. Place the Aloe arborescens in the hole, making sure the base of the plant is level with or slightly above the soil surface. Backfill the hole with a mixture of well-draining soil and sand, gently firming it around the roots. Water the plant thoroughly after planting and then allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Aloe arborescens is drought-tolerant and overwatering can cause root rot. Provide occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells. Avoid planting in areas prone to frost or freezing temperatures. With proper care and occasional fertilization with a balanced succulent fertilizer, Aloe arborescens can thrive and provide attractive foliage and showy orange-red flowers.

Care instructions

Watering

Aloe arborescens prefers well-draining soil, so water it thoroughly but infrequently. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

During the active growing season (spring and summer), water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in the dormant season (fall and winter) to prevent excessive moisture in cooler temperatures.

Soil

Aloe arborescens thrives in well-draining soil with a sandy or gritty texture. Use a cactus or succulent potting mix, or create a mixture of regular potting soil with sand or perlite to enhance drainage. Ensure the pot or planting area has good drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Sunlight

Aloe arborescens thrives in bright, indirect sunlight to full sun. Place the plant in a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. If growing indoors, choose a sunny window or provide artificial grow lights to ensure adequate light exposure.

Prunning

Aloe arborescens typically requires minimal pruning. Remove any dead or damaged leaves as they occur.
If the plant becomes leggy or top-heavy, you can prune the stems back to maintain a more compact shape.
Take care when pruning, as the leaves have sharp spines that can cause injuries.

Fertilser

Aloe arborescens is a low-maintenance plant that generally doesn't require frequent fertilization. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer formulated for succulents or cacti during the active growing season, following the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid over-fertilizing, as excessive nutrients can lead to weak growth.

Pests & Disease

Aloe arborescens is generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, it can occasionally be affected by common succulent pests like mealybugs or aphids.
Inspect the plant regularly for signs of infestation, such as webbing, sticky residue, or distorted leaves.

Treat infestations with a gentle insecticidal soap or neem oil, following the product instructions. Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal diseases.
