Planting instructions for:

Callistemon 'Endeavour' - 70 litre

To plant Callistemon 'Endeavour', also known as Bottlebrush 'Endeavour', follow these planting instructions. Choose a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Prepare the soil by loosening it and removing any weeds or debris. Dig a hole that is wider and slightly deeper than the root ball. Gently remove the plant from its container and place it in the hole, ensuring that the top of the root ball is level with or slightly above the soil surface. Backfill the hole with a mixture of the excavated soil and organic matter, gently firming it around the roots. Water the plant thoroughly after planting to settle the soil and provide initial hydration. Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to help conserve moisture and suppress weed growth. Provide regular watering during the first year to establish a strong root system. Once established, Callistemon 'Endeavour' is relatively drought-tolerant and requires less frequent watering. Prune the plant after flowering to maintain its shape and promote bushier growth. Regularly monitor the plant for any signs of pests or diseases and take appropriate measures to address them.

Care instructions

Watering

Provide regular watering during the first year to establish a strong root system. Afterward, the plant is relatively drought-tolerant but will benefit from occasional deep watering during extended dry periods.

Soil

Plant in well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Avoid heavy clay soils that may retain too much water and lead to root rot. A slightly acidic to neutral soil pH is ideal.

Sunlight

Callistemon 'Endeavour' thrives in full sun to partial shade. Ensure the plant receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for optimal growth and flowering.

Prunning

Prune the plant after flowering to maintain its shape and promote bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Lightly trim the tips of the branches to encourage branching and a more compact form.

Fertilser

Feed the plant with a balanced slow-release fertilizer in spring to promote healthy growth and abundant flowering. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates. Avoid overfertilizing, as it may result in excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowers.

Pests & Disease

Monitor the plant for common pests such as aphids, scale insects, and spider mites. Treat any infestations with appropriate insecticidal soaps or pesticides. Callistemon 'Endeavour' is generally resistant to diseases but may be susceptible to root rot if the soil is excessively wet.
