Figs are one of the easiest and most rewarding fruit trees you can grow at home. They are extremely hardy to the point where they almost seem to thrive on neglect. Ensure you plant your tree in a large hole (1m2) and mix in lots of compost and water well to give them the best possible start. The trees can get quite large but respond well to pruning so its possible to keep them in a shape that's manageable, which will also make picking the fruit easier. Alternatively if space is an issue, try them large pots where they do equally as well.
